Junior Capsule would be released from prison this weekend



José Figueroa Agosto, better known in the underworld as “Junior Capsule” By trafficking thousands of kilos of cocaine between Puerto Rico, New York, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic earlier this century, he would be released on Saturday after reaching a second agreement with federal authorities.

Figueroa Agosto was arrested on July 17, 2010 in Isla Verde by agents of the Federal Anti-Drug Agency (DEA) after fleeing from the Dominican Republic. He reportedly faced confiscation of $ 100 million in property.

In 2012, he pleaded guilty to leading a drug trafficking organization after reaching an agreement with the prosecution and cooperating with federal authorities.

In 2017, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison, a minimum sentence after reaching the agreement reached by his defense with the federal prosecution.

In addition, his attorney Ramón Negrón Colón was found guilty of trying to bribe a state judge to hold a new trial.
