Until yesterday, April 20 was the most violent day of the year, with 114 victims of intentional homicide, despite the measures of confinement due to the pandemic of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

That day surpassed April 19 as the most violent day of the year, which registered 105 victims.

In turn, on Sunday, April 19, it displaced the 4th and 9th of the same month, which were the ones that registered the most intentional homicides, with 104 and 102 victims, respectively, according to the daily report.

It should be remembered that the daily count data present a substation of between 20% and 25% with respect to the monthly statistics reported by the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).

The SESNSP has not yet issued its monthly report corresponding to crime incidence in June; however, the daily count allows establishing a monthly trend of intentional homicides in the country.

The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Alfonso Durazo Montaño, assured on Saturday that part of the tragedy of violence and insecurity that Mexico has experienced, “originated in previous governments that made force, for years, the only instrument , exclusive and exclusive, from the fight against crime ”.

As part of the 30th anniversary of the creation of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), the official posted a series of messages on his social network account in which he criticized the actions of past security administrations.

He assured that the balance of these policies “was hundreds of thousands of dead, forced disappeared and tortured, as well as a historical inertia that unfortunately continues to this day.”
