This is stated in a letter sent by the chairman of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker to the chairman of the PP GERB Boyko Borisov, the press center of the party reported. Juncker expresses his appreciation for the good partnership between the EC and Bulgaria in the last two years. In the official correspondence, the leader of the EC calls for the continuation of the reforms started by the government of Boyko Borisov. “During your mandate, Bulgaria was a partner that could be counted on to follow the initiatives, part of the European agenda, such as the implementation of the Investment Plan for Europe, the establishment of the European Border and Coast Guard Service and the Energy Union” , says Juncker.
The letter states the fact that in 2017 Bulgaria celebrates the tenth anniversary of its accession to the EU. “This year, your country is also preparing to take over the Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2018. During this extremely important time, I hope that Bulgaria will continue to work for the sake of what has already been started, complete the reforms, make them irreversible and work hard for our common European future”, Juncker.
“On a personal level, it was a pleasure for me to work with you and I wish you all the best in your future plans”, wrote the president of the European Commission to the leader of GERB.
