Before qualifying in Klingenthal, Polish fans had the right to have high expectations. In one of the training sessions, Kamil Stoch and Piotr Żyła were in the top three. In this way they gave the fans hope for a return to form and showed that the Vogtland Arena is right for them.

Poles in a limited group. Klingenthal the perfect place to break

The Biało-Czerwoni came to Klingenthal in a limited group. Only Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła, Aleksander Zniszczoł and Paweł Wąsek appeared at the facility, which was extremely lucky for Poles. By the decision of our training staff, Dawid Kubacki, Jakub Wolny, Andrzej Stękała and Klemens Murańka went to the Austrian Ramsau for training under the supervision of Grzegorz Sobczyk and Maciej Maciusiak.

Such a radical move is the result of the terrible disposition of Poles at the beginning of this season of the World Cup. After five individual competitions in Nizhniy Tagil, Ruka and Vistula, none of our representatives is in the top “10” of the general classification of the cycle. Kamil Stoch was the only one of the Biało-Czerwonych who had scored regularly.

The surprising result of Narrow. Great jump from Stoch

Paweł Wąsek was the first Pole to appear on the beam. He jumped 126 m. This allowed him to take the lead longer. Only Simon Ammann, who jumped 131 meters, picked them up. Aleksander Zniszczoł was also promoted to the competition, although he had a worse jump, because he had 118 m. Piotr Żyła had a good attempt, although his jump was not as unbelievable as during training. He jumped 124 m, which gave him a place in the lead for a long time. This result was definitely beaten by Kamil Stoch, who took the lead with a jump of 130 m.

Ryoyu Kobayashi won with a jump of 133 m. Stoch was third behind the Japanese. Both jumpers were separated by a German – Karl Geiger. Żyła’s place may also give hope for a good result in the competition. The jumper from Wisła was 12th. Wasek was 18th, and Zniszczoł was 45th.
