Jump, Medicine / Health | Corona trouble for the national team manager before the jumping week – stopped at Gardermoen

The jumpers’ national team manager Clas Brede Bråthen did not come with the rest of the Norwegian jumping team on the plane to Munich on Monday. The reason was a misunderstanding at Gardermoen.

– It’s okay to have a perspective on things, but there is no doubt that it is boring, Bråthen says to NTB.

– It was fixed in five minutes when the error was discovered. Then I got the first plane that can take me to Munich, he says.

– But I am six seven hours late, and the test center in Oberstdorf is most likely closed, he adds.

This means that Tuesday’s qualification may fail for the national team manager. Everyone who participates in the jumping week in one or another capacity must point to a negative coronal test on arrival.

Misunderstanding

The flight trouble, which Dagbladet first reported, occurred at check-in at Gardermoen.

“Even though I have a valid corona certificate, the person behind the counter interpreted it as if I had a positive test,” said the 53-year-old.

Bråthen gave a positive corona test on December 14, and that is where the misunderstanding started, according to the national team manager.

– The person behind the counter interpreted it as that I could not travel in 28 days after the positive test, but when you have taken the vaccine, there are completely different rules that apply, he explained.

positive

National team coach Alexander Stöckl is not particularly pleased with the incident, but believes it will not affect the team significantly.

– It does not affect the team in that sense, but it will be a little extra work. You have to organize a little more because of that, so it is possible he can not be on the ground tomorrow, Stöckl says to NTB.

Hoppuka starts in German Oberstdorf on Wednesday with qualification the day before. The traditional tournament lasts until January 6. Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen are the other three places to jump.

– If these are the biggest problems in the jumping week 2021/22, I will be happy, says Bråthen.
