The two victims of the supermarket riot in which Glennis Grace (44) is involved, told their story at the court in Amsterdam on Wednesday. The two men both claim that the accident had a “big impact” on them. One of them even says he feared for her life and is suffering long-term physical consequences. The prosecutor suspects the singer and other involved parties of open violence, premeditated assault and death threats.

One of the employees reported a bruise, swollen cheek and lip abrasion as a result of the accident. The other had a bruise on his eye, cheek, left ear, concussion, and swelling in the back of his head. The men are both of age.

The first of the two victims, Tino, says in court that the accident at the supermarket had a ‘major impact’ on him. “It was like a storm was blowing through the Jumbo,” he says. “Seven people came running and almost immediately started chasing employees and immediately using a lot of physical violence. It all went away in a flash, but it was an extremely stressful experience for me, which had a lot of impact on me. and even now it still has it. “
The victim claims that not only did he suffer physical harm, but that the statement and statements of injury he had to make also made an impression on him. At work, he noticed that he was becoming more cautious, even if that didn’t fit his role as team leader. “The suspects know where we work and there was no trigger for the accident, so what would stop them from doing it again?”
“To this day we are still accused of the accident,” he continues. “All of this takes a lot of time and energy, where we are reminded of events over and over again, while we have never asked for it and therefore it is difficult to process.” Man finds it “a pity” that it “happened like this”. “There was absolutely no reason to react like this. It was all in vain,” he concludes.

The second victim, Rik, finds it “difficult” to put into words the impact the event had on him. “During the accident, for the first time in my life I was afraid that something bad would happen to me. I thought that if I was more affected out it would be or worse: it would die. “Months later, she is still noticing the aftermath of the violence in the supermarket in February of this year.” I have no smell, I have no taste and my vision is limited. This is why I see a kind of circles in the darkness around lamps and street lamps. This is because of the concussion I suffered from the blow to the back of the head. “
The man was told by his family doctor that if these ailments do not go away within twelve months, it is expected that it will never go away. The accident has been going on for eight months now. “This is why I am afraid of always being limited in sight, smell and taste. And for what? The victim resents the suspects, including Glennis, “not taking responsibility” for the “cowardly, superfluous and organized act” they committed. “My colleagues and I were just trying to do our job and then we were rounded up by suspects and chased around the store. The incident in question occurred on Saturday evening, February 12, in a Jumbo branch in the Jordaan in Amsterdam. That same evening the singer, her son Thony and her ex were arrested. Seven people went to the supermarket to ask for redress after Glennis’ son and a friend were evicted from the supermarket that evening. Glennis denies threatening the store employee. According to her, for four minutes there was a great panic with people chasing each other and she tried to calm people down. The singer was held at the police station for three days.
The singer, like six other suspects, is in court on charges of death threats. His son Thony and his friend will appear on Thursday behind closed doors because they are minors. Batta’s ex-boyfriend Dion K. (27), Thony’s cousin Jonathan L. (20), Reginald K. (51) – the father of Thony’s boyfriend – and Mohammed K. ( 21). The latter is not present and is represented by his lawyer.
