What vaccine is being applied?

The vaccine currently in use against influenza is the trivalent from Abbott Laboratory which contains three strains of influenza, and complies with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Who can get a free flu shot?

The target population that can receive the Influenza vaccine for free is:

Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy.Boys and girls from 6 months to 5th grade.People aged 65 and over.Chronic patients from 11 to 64 years old, carriers of any of the following risk conditions:Chronic lung disease ( bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease -COPD-, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary fibrosis of any cause). Chronic renal failure (stage 4 or greater renal failure, dialysis) Chronic liver disease (cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, liver disease) Metabolic diseases (diabetes mellitus, congenital metabolic diseases) Heart disease (congenital, rheumatic, ischemic, and cardiomyopathies of any cause ).Arterial hypertension under pharmacological treatment.Obesity (BMI ≥30 in adults and BMI >+2SD in adolescents).Serious mental illnesses (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder.Autoimmune disease (lupus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease and others). Cancer being treated with radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormonal therapies or palliative measures of any kind. Immunodeficiencies (congenital or acquired). Health personnel. Relatives of premature infants of less than 37 weeks of gestation. Relatives of immunosuppressed infants less than 6 months of age. .Preschool and school education workers up to 5th grade. Caregivers for the elderly and ELEAM officials. Poultry and pig farm workers.
