Slovak hockey goalkeeper Július Hudáček will work in the Czech extra league for the second time in his career. He agreed with the HC Sparta Praha club on cooperation until the end of the current 2021/2022 season. The official website of the Prague club informed about it.
The former Slovak national team has worked in the Continental Hockey League during the year. In the jersey, Dinama Riga entered 14 matches, in which he had an 88.8 percent success rate and an average of 2.96 goals collected per match. Sparta will be his second place in the highest Czech competition.
In the year 2013/2014, he started in 38 matches in the Pardubice jersey. In addition to him, the attackers David Tomášek and the Russian Genadij Stoljarov also came to Sparta. “We have decided not to follow the path of player exchanges, but rather to strengthen the team. All three players have signed a contract by the end of the season,” said the sports director of Sparta Prague Petr Ton for the club website.
After the recent departure of Alexander Salák’s goalkeeper unit, Hudáček will form a goalkeeper pair with Matěj Machovský. “We have considered many variants. We perceive Hudáček as a proven goalkeeper who has many interesting jobs in which he has gained valuable experience. We believe that he will properly complete the tandem with Matěj Machovský,” Ton remarked.
