Receiver Julio Jones’ debut with the Tennessee Titans hasn’t gone very well and he’s already been criticized by head coach Mike Vrabel.
Heavily earned from the Atlanta Falcons last offseason, the athlete caught three of six passes sent in his direction for gains of 29 yards in a 38-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. .
It wasn’t for his lack of production that frustrated Vrabel, however. Rather, it’s a 15-yard penalty for undue harshness in the first quarter, as the Titans trailed 10-0.
“It was a critical error,” said the pilot in his post-match press conference. It’s not one of the things we teach. It falls under the category of stupid things that hurt the team. We were on the third down with one yard to go and we went to the third down and 16 yards. ”
Jones will look to get back into Vrabel’s good graces next Sunday, when the Titans travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks.
