The digital ‘Tiempo de Canarias’ echoed last night the controversy in the SC of Tenerife City Council over the appointment of the socialist Julio Cruz as general director of Organization and Internal Regime of the corporation. Despite the fact that the procedure for this selection is a Free Appointment position (to which only officials could choose), the project presented by Cruz was valued in fourth place by the technicians, which did not prevent the former senator and former secretary of organization of the PSOE is elected. Martín has expressed his confidence in the correctness of the procedure, while Juanjo Martínez, spokesperson for CC, has criticized that the file has not been provided to them despite having repeatedly requested it and has emphasized the fact that it is a Free position. Appointment does not mean that there is discretion in the election.
The PP, for its part, has criticized through Carlos Tarife the lack of transparency of the government group, which does not explain why the fourth is selected or the reasons why Arocha does not sign the document. On both issues, the President of the Cabildo de La Gomera, Casimiro Curbelo, has also spoken, noting that if the criteria are not met, prevarication may be achieved.
