The current tricolor president was unopposed in the election in which he was the only candidate. He received 194 votes (in addition to 30 blank votes and 10 invalid votes) and celebrated the result:

– The democratic process offered opposition participation. But we have to look at it from another angle. To my happiness, the management had such a high approval rating, 88%, that due to an autonomous decision by the opposition, they did not launch a candidate – he declared.

No São Paulo, the election for president is held only among members of the club’s Deliberative Council, currently with 255 advisors. The election had 92% participation of those eligible to vote.

In addition to Casares, the president of the Council, Olten Ayres – another unique candidate – was also re-elected, who will serve an equal term of three years. He received 191 votes, in addition to 29 blank votes and 14 invalid votes.

Casares assumed the presidency of São Paulo in January 2021 to succeed Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva, known as Leco.

In the first few months, the team beat Paulista and ended an eight-year title drought. In the same year, the team fought against relegation in the Brazilian Championship. This year, the São Paulo won the Copa do Brasil, a previously unprecedented tournament for the club.

The leader took stock of what he accomplished in the first government and wishes to maintain a competitive team for the next three years, with advances in the organization of the São Paulo.

– We will continue a journey of reconstruction that takes time. Three years is not enough, we climbed the ladder, in the sporting field we reached four finals and won two. There was a balance in the financial legacy, the bleeding was stopped – he analyzed.

– In governance, we promised everything we wanted to execute and we achieved, as in compliance standards, the inclusion of fans, we broke the record of 1.5 million people in the history of the club São Paulo in one year at Morumbi. We will focus on the continuity of sporting competitiveness, balance and continuity of the financial situation.
