In a conversation with Jauns.lv, Krūmiņš reveals that his life story has already been described in his memoirs “Stories of Iļguciem’s Homeboy”, published in 2016. “Until 1968, when I entered the Riga Film Studio, I was a homeboy. I wasn’t interested in anything anymore, only babas, schnabis and fights. And so until 25 years. I had gone through all kinds of jobs, life was different… I was in prison for a day, I swept the road with a broom, and it was a shame that only I was not recognized. It was all youth. When a friend introduced me to the director of the Riga Film Studio and I went to work, I realized that it was mine. I entered the All-Union Institute of Cinematography in Russia, then worked at “Mosfilm” for 20 years. And that’s where I became who I am today. There I had to show what I can do,” Krumiņš outlines his life.

The millionaire says that he can currently boast of his achievements – four hotels in Jurmala, three of which are ranked at the top of the best hotels in Jurmala.
“All three of my hotels are the best buildings in Jurmala this year. I am proud of my children that they continue what I have started,” boasts the millionaire.

It was because of his children and grandchildren that Julius made the decision to participate in the upcoming reality show: “I have 15 grandchildren. The oldest are already 30, 26 and 24 years old, and they too will soon have children. By the time I die, I will have about 30 grandchildren! I must leave them something, some testimony; let them see what their grandfather was like, how he spoke and performed, who he was friends with. I want my grandchildren to look at what I have done in 20 years.”
Speaking about star disease and the recognition that appearing on television will now bring, Krūmiņš says: “I remember when I graduated from the institute in Moscow, I was assigned by “Mosfilm” to be the director of the film “The Legend of Tila Pūcesspieľeli”, I was responsible for the filming of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. I have been making huge decorations for two and a half years. And at that time, I got star sickness when I opened the door with my foot in Jurmala’s “Pearl of the Sea”, restaurant “Kaburg” and others. I went to the porter, dropped him ten rubles and went in, and everyone knew me.
Indeed, I had developed a strong star sickness. I didn’t even meet my friends. But then I got into an accident and realized that we all came from the earth.
I changed completely after that incident. “Man-Tess” (port and transport joint venture) had 1,500 people working for me. I gave them all gifts for the new year and held a concert. During the year, there were two or three balls where the actor Edgars Liepiņš always performed. I realized that only these employees of mine are already the ones doing it. I am actually just such a user. I find people, I use them, and they make me money. That’s why it’s imperative to share, otherwise you can’t, otherwise you’ll stay snotty.
I also realize that money is not the main thing. It’s just paper. Today it’s money in the bank, and tomorrow it can be lost, but the main thing is the family, what you leave behind. I don’t know what kind of enlightenment it was for me, but I realized that I had to do everything so that my children and grandchildren could learn from me. I don’t care what others think about me, what my children and grandchildren think about me is important to me. That’s how I live,” says Yulius and states: “I respect each of my drivers and janitors more than the politicians I see on TV every day. As my mother once taught me – to live my life simply, not to do to others what I don’t like myself. Don’t hit and don’t lie; if someone is weaker, if you can, help him. Mother said – if I live according to this formula, then I will be the happiest person in the world.”
The new season of the reality show “Celebrities. Bez filtra”, which will be talked about throughout Latvia, will be available from August 22, from Monday to Thursday at 20.30.
