Juliette: Exploring Everyday Life Through Music and Artistry – Interview

Your latest album is surprising, you talk about quilts, wigs, peppers and even stairs. How was this record born?

“It was during the second confinement, this period when we were no longer allowed to go out. So I took inspiration from everyday life, from the little things in life to write. Therefore Songs from where the eye falls was born. Putting a duvet in a cover, that speaks to everyone, right? Alone we struggle! I started from the mundane and made it into something poetic and literary. On the other hand, when I speak of a wig, it is a question of illness, in the Lord of the Flies I’m talking about harassment. I like to take a step back and gain perspective when I tackle certain delicate subjects. »

Friday November 24, in Thionville, we will discover your show. Will it be focused on your new album?

“No, there will be everything, I have about fifteen records. I repeat some of the previous one. It will be a real show, the piano, which I have always played, will be the central element. I will be accompanied by four musicians. There will be percussion, fanfare, it will move. It’s a nice show, with scenography and lights. »

Fifteen albums and forty years of career: are you proud to be a monument of French song?

“To be a monument? No, I don’t like the term. On the other hand, yes, I am proud of the journey without ever having really been in the media. I filled rooms, I still do. There is public loyalty and several generations. Few of us succeed over time. »

We also know you in relation to Olivia Ruiz who called on you for her first two albums. Did you understand her choice when she left Star Academy?

“She didn’t want to be labeled reality TV. Olivia is an intelligent and lucid girl. By writing songs for him ( I don’t like love et The little thief ) I also rejuvenated my audience. I continue to be in demand. But I select the artists for whom I work. »

You took some steps as an actress in the series “Chef” by Clovis Cornillac. Is this an environment that attracts you?

“The directors sometimes call me and I enjoy getting out of my comfort zone. But I’m not an actress. On the other hand, I don’t refuse this kind of request, it changes my mind. It also nourishes my writing. »
