Julien Nkoghe Bekale, will now chair the economic, social and environmental council (CESE) in Gabon, so his role is to give his opinion on draft laws, ordinance or decree as well as legislative proposals.
A magistrate by training, the new president of the CESE was Prime Minister from 2019 to 2020. He held the post of High Commissioner, before entering the government as Minister of Petroleum, Minister of Transport and Minister of Agriculture respectively. .
Julien Nkoghe replaces René Ndemezo’o Obiang in this post, who since January 9 has held the post of Minister of State in charge of Consumer Affairs and the fight against the high cost of living. Until his appointment, he occupied the post of deputy of the first seat of the commune of Ntoum, located about thirty kilometers from Libreville.
