Julie Lagarrigue Trio at Diapason

Saturday February 18, Julie Lagarrigue Trio will be on stage at the cultural center.

Julie Lagarrigue returns with a new undulating and lively show, vibrant with a poetry close to the mystical. Welcome to the world of his album “La Mue du Serpent blanc”. Metamorphosis is indeed always implicitly in question here. In 2020, Amours Sorcières (3 Télérama keys, among other press gratifications) was a bucolic and light journey through rhythms and rhymes that evoked the memory of Anne Sylvestre as well as North African inspirations. Without reinventing this alchemy of the mixture which makes the mark of its author, “La Mue du Serpent blanc” frees itself here from any invading influence to fully assume its artistic personality. Profuse and generous, the album benefits from tailor-made arrangements by Camille Rocailleux and the mischievous electric guitar of Nicolas Jules, guest on a few tracks. Alternate moments of melancholic sweetness (La Mer est immense…), trompe-l’oeil nursery rhymes (Mon Monde interior, Faut qu’on s’garde…) and a few nocturnal incursions into a world where shadows move in leading you by the hand (The Skeleton Tango…). A decor of atmospheres, a gallery of hollow portraits, this show is a sonic eel that shudders with each listen, first slipping away then curling up in the hollow of your ear.

General admission €13 – Reduced admission €10 (young people, students and people with reduced mobility)
