In the French L’Equipe, Julian Alaphilippe has come back to his fall in the Tour of Flanders. “We drove very fast. I just really hadn’t heard the bike, ”says the Deceuninck-Quick-Step rider. “But I’ll definitely be back.”

Julian Alaphilippe was irritated by some comments after his fall in the Tour of Flanders. “I heard people say I wasn’t focused enough because I was speaking on the radio, that I was looking too much forward or back, that I was drinking … But that wouldn’t have changed anything.”
The Frenchman doesn’t want to blame anyone for his fall. “It is not the fault of Mathieu van der Poel because he does not warn, it is also not the fault of the motorcyclist because he does not have to drive there. I just hadn’t heard the sound of the engine, we were driving very fast ”, he says.
