On December 14, the stage was set for the premiere of the film, which people all over the world have been looking forward to for years.
But the Norwegian fans will have to wait a little longer. Due to new corona measures, the premiere date on Spider-Man: “No Way Home” has been postponed until mid-January.
Julia Pracz Strand (29) from Hamar is a blood fan of the Marvel universe. She has been looking forward to the new film since 2018.
When she heard the decision to postpone the premiere date, she was very disappointed.
– I got tears in my eyes and thought, is it possible ?, says Strand.
Now she and her cohabitant are considering going to Sweden to see the film at the cinema there.
– I travel at the first opportunity. We boycott watching the film in cinemas here, because why should I bother when I can go to Charlottenberg this weekend ?, she says.
Redd for spoilers
One of the problems with the postponement, according to the fans, is that the rest of the world gets to see the film first. Spoilers will ruin the experience, they believe.
Strand understands that infection control must come first, and that people who want to see the film should not sit close together.
However, she believes the film should have had more screenings, so that anyone who wants to can see it.
– Infection control always comes first. I do not go to the cinema when it is not right, especially during the time we are in, says Strand.
The criticism hails
Following the news of the postponement, a group was created on Facebook called “Spider-Man: No Way Home – We who protest against SF’s decision”.
It already has over 2000 members, and fans do not hold back with the criticism:
“An incredibly bad decision.” “Now you have to get serious.” “What a silly stunt to make more money.” “Talk about how short it can be for fans to stretch.” “Spoilers will flourish and ruin the movie for us fans.”
In a survey in the group, 291 members answered that they are considering watching the film in Sweden.
One has also been launched signature campaign to get the film to the cinema as soon as possible. So far, nearly 5,000 have signed up.
What do you think about the premiere being postponed?

– Very unfortunate
SF Studios did not have the opportunity to answer questions from NRK, but refers to one posts on his own Facebook page from December 14th.
There they write that there will not be enough capacity for the film to reach its potential and that they have therefore, together with Sony Pictures, come to the conclusion that the film must be moved.
“This is very unfortunate, especially since we know that this film, and the planned premiere tomorrow, is something many have been looking forward to. We hope we can show you the film in cinemas under better conditions soon. It’s worth the wait! ”It says.
“A new date for film screenings is set for January 14, but this obviously depends on the market / restrictions at that time,” they write.
