viral parking attendant (think) at Andir Market, Bandung City set the parking fee IDR 20 thousand for one vehicle. In fact, the ticket stated that the motor vehicle rate was Rp. 6 thousand per hour. Where does the money go?
“The deposit money didn’t go to us, because it was managed by the mass organizations there,” said Head of the Bandung City Transportation Service Unit Parking Unit Yogi Mamesa to detikJabar via telephone, Wednesday (4/5/2022).
Yogi explained that residents and mass organizations in Bandung often want to be involved in parking activities before Eid. According to him, this is done to help the economy of residents in the area.
Yogi calls it a tradition. However, he emphasized that there should be no increase in parking rates outside the provisions set by the government.
“So that (parking managed by residents and mass organizations) used to be a tradition, before Lebaran usually they wanted to be involved. But the tariff is normal, it has been determined by us and not arbitrarily like that,” he said.
Yogi confirmed that he would gather parking coordinators, including residents and mass organizations, so that the incident would not happen again. The reason, said Yogi, the most important thing is the income for PAD Bandung City as well as being able to help the people’s economy.
