“Jugend musiziert” starts for the 60th time – Freiburg

The regional competitions of “Jugend musiziert”, which are held in more than 160 regions of Germany and in German-speaking schools abroad at the end of January/beginning of February, mark this year’s prelude to the anniversary of “60 years of youth music”. According to a statement, thousands of young musicians take part in the oldest and most renowned music competition for children and young people every year. In Freiburg and the two districts of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Emmendingen, the starting signal will be given next weekend, January 28th and 29th, in the Freiburg Music Academy, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Platz 1. The first evaluations begin and end at 9 a.m. on both days each evening around 8 p.m. This year, the competition is open to soloists in the categories piano and singing, and ensembles in the categories of string and brass ensembles as well as new music. The competition is public.
