The National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges (Jufed) and the “32 United Circuits” coalition strongly rejected the implementation of the judicial reform, where the Senate defined that 850 positions of judges and magistrates will be renewed in the extraordinary election of June 2025.
Expressing its strongest protest against the draw, the Jufed pointed out that the procedure “is clearly a null act that must be left without effect.” He even stated that it was a “truly humiliating” action, which in no way finds legal support, it was played at random with the professional lives not only of the judging people, but also of the trusted workers and their families.” .
He indicated that through the interference of a power other than the Federal Judicial Branch, the arbitrary termination of the function of 50 percent of career judges in 2025 was decided, and the rest in 2027, “violating” all the rules of access to national and conventional jurisdiction.
Furthermore, he reiterated that there was a new failure to comply with the suspensions decreed by the federal justice system, which in many cases went through the review requested by the responsible authorities who were unable to demonstrate their illegality. “For this reason, this Association insists that the acts of the legislative branch flagrantly violate the rule of law and systematically continue to break our constitutional order.”
He also reported that he will provide all legal support and accompaniment to the judges whose human and labor rights “were violated, through this arbitrary action.”
Separately, PJF personnel organized in the “32 United Circuits” coalition, strongly rejected the day of “violations of fundamental rights” that the federal instructors were subjected to; since, “their life projects, the future of their families and that of justice in the country, were subjected through a tombola to fortune and chance, a situation that disrupts the principles of independence, impartiality and excellence that govern the PJF , leaving the Nation reeling by weakening one of the three powers of the Union.”
The Coalition added that in addition to the feeling of legal insecurity left by the “raffle” for judicial and federal court positions and the failure to comply with the suspensions decreed in the incidents derived from the amparo lawsuits promoted against the “arbitrary judicial reform, it is It is truly a shame that all the merits achieved, the academic achievements, the knowledge acquired and the experience of jurists who have dedicated their lives to the administration of justice, are thrown overboard in a lottery, because we must remember that they are not only judges, are also fundamental pillars of the judicial career with the teaching that they transmit in the classrooms of the Judicial School, to the new generations.”
They reiterated their support for the members of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), “who have the future of Mexico in their hands, as they are in charge of reviewing the controversies and actions that have been promoted regarding the so-called reform of the PJF. “We trust in his judgment, experience and career in the administration of justice.”
