Judit Varga on Europe Day – When the future began. He spoke at the conference “Lessons from the history of the European Union”, which was organized by the Institute of Strategic Studies of the National Public Service University (NKE).
The minister referred to the words of Robert Schumann, one of the founders of the European Union (EU), according to which Europe will either be Christian or not. Judit Varga was of the opinion that what is successful when tested in Hungary “could also be successful on a large scale in Europe”, which is why they stick to conservative values.
Gergely Deli, the rector of NKE, emphasized that European peace and unity will be celebrated on May 9. On this day, they commemorate the Schuman Declaration, which is seen as the beginning of the road to the EU.
