For more than 15 years, Judit Neddermann has consolidated an outstanding artistic career thanks to her voice, stage presence and a proposal inspired by folkloric roots and modern music.
The Catalan singer and songwriter who visits Mexico in the context of her LAR tour, will also share the stage of El Cantoral, this May 2, with three other talented women such as the Portuguese MARO and the Argentine Paula Prieto and Caro de la Muela, who They will fuse their voices and art in an unforgettable evening.
Since 2020, the performer said, the idea of bringing together the women’s quartet was raised, after which “I was amazed because at that time I had recorded with MARO, then I did it with Caro and Paula, it has been a great discovery.
As a musician, it is very important to share repertoire, sing and have space to talk about experiences, careers and the moment that each one experiences. Being an artist is a very big demand and for this occasion I want to live it on all levels.”
She pointed out: “It is important to put women at the center, that we occupy the important stages and places from where this way of understanding the world is visible and can be shared.”
For a decade, Judit Neddermann was the vocalist of the mestizo band The Gramophone All Stars and has worked with artists such as Jorge Drexler, Joan Manuel Serrat, Noa, Miguel Poveda, Macaco, Amaia and Rozalén, among others. She also did the duet “Este Segundo” with Alejandro Sanz, whose song is included in the renowned singer’s album #Eldisco.
He has reinterpreted Schubert’s “Winterreise” together with the Quartet Brossa, a contemporary classical music ensemble, and was part of pianist Clara Peya’s team.
About LAR, her fifth album, with musical production by Arnau and Pau Figueras, is a work that draws on Iberian folklore and Brazilian music, styles that have always been part of the artist’s career.
