The Fifth National Criminal Appeals Chamber sentenced a citizen identified as Peter Rodríguez Flores to one year in prison for the crime of advocating terrorism.
The subject had shared on his social networks an image that praised the figure of Víctor Polay Campos, leader of the terrorist group Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA), in which he was greeted on his birthday.

Thus, the court decided to order Rodríguez Flores to be imprisoned for one year and subject to rules of conduct for four years. He was also disqualified from holding public office for six months and was definitively denied the option of being able to work as a teacher or administrator in an educational center.
In addition, the State was ordered to pay civil compensation of S/ 20,000 and was ordered to pay for the process of executing the sentence before the competent national preparatory investigation judge.
