Judiciary and PJF workers analyze demands on salaries and benefits

The Federal Judicial Council (CJF) and various organizations representing workers in the Judicial Branch began a working group to analyze demands that salaries and benefits not be reduced with the entry into force of the judicial reform.

Patricia Aguayo, who has become the spokesperson for a group of workers, mainly attorneys, judicial officers, notification officers and other rank-and-file workers, presented a petition in which they demand, among other things, that they be granted financial compensation in the amount of one month’s salary made up of extraordinary expenses incurred as a result of the strike, and that they be guaranteed that there will be no reduction in salaries of any kind even when the judicial reform comes into effect and the judiciary disappears.

Likewise, legal action should not be taken against those who participated in the strike or demonstrated against the amendment, and the disappearance of the trusts should not affect their benefits, as well as the right to a salary increase in percentage of annual inflation.

The petition of the National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (JUFED), the Mexican Association of Female Judges, the Mexican Association of Female Judges, the General Secretaries of the Union of Workers of the Judicial Branch and of the National Union of Renewal in the Service of the Workers of the PJF, as well as the College of Secretaries and Clerks of the Federal Judiciary, has not yet been released.

Members of the United Circuits organization said that now, beyond the reform, “the issue is to negotiate with our employer, the judiciary, so that there is no impact on the salaries and benefits of base workers and those who do not hold positions as judges or magistrates, and that the current working conditions agreed upon in collective contracts are respected.”

Likewise, workers interviewed indicated that their leaders have pointed out to them the need not to return to work next Monday, “although many already want to return to work, but the intention is to maintain the strike until the first days of October, when Claudia Sheinbaum has already assumed the Presidency of the Republic and to see if it is agreed to maintain the working conditions.”

The Plenary Session of the CJF agreed on Wednesday to lift the suspension of deadlines in all jurisdictional bodies and administrative areas, which in practice means ending the work stoppage that began on August 19, although this does not limit workers who oppose judicial reform from holding demonstrations or taking legal action outside of their working hours.
