The reason is, because in one of the game levels Fortnite there is a mission that requires the player to destroy a building similar to Ka’bah to proceed to the next level.
Therefore, the Electronic Fatwa Center of Al-Azhar University Cairo, Al-Hadidy issued a warning to Muslims not to play and boycott this game made by Epic Games.
Because according to him, this shows directly has incited Muslim children to not respect the beliefs they profess.
“This game has shown contempt for the Islamic faith by asking the players to destroy Ka’bah in order to advance to a higher level, therefore it is mandatory to boycott this,” he was quoted as saying JEMBER PORTAL dari Egypt Independent.
Not only that, Al-Hadidy also mentioned that Al Azhar University also mentioned that games that are currently rife in the community can have a bad effect on children’s growth and development.
