Judges who brought cases against former Argentine president take on Venezuelan cases

Buenos Aires. During a hearing convened by Chamber 1 of the Court of Appeals in the Federal Courts located in the residential neighborhood of Retiro, the judges of the Federal Chamber, Pablo Bertuzzi, Leopoldo Bruglia, and Mariano Llorens, took the testimonies of a group of Venezuelans, whose names are protected, who reported having been victims of kidnappings and also torture in Venezuela under the government of President Nicolás Maduro, demanding that the president be summoned, they are the same ones who created false cases against former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and a number of her officials who were illegally detained during the government of right-wing former President Mauricio Macri (2015-2019).

Along with these judges, who must make the decision to order the international summons and arrest of Maduro, was also present the prosecutor in charge of this case, Carlos Stronelli, who in 2019 was convicted by a federal court for creating false cases, in what was called lawfare, according to journalists and media that lied and intelligence sectors dependent on officials of the then ruling coalition.

Stornelli was protected by the Judicial Party despite all the blatant evidence obtained by Fernández de Kirchner’s lawyers.

Most of the Venezuelans who arrived in the country with their families when Macri agreed with the United States were mostly wealthy businessmen who were immediately given documents, so they were able to buy businesses, restaurants, companies bankrupted by the Argentine president, who in 2019 recognized the self-appointed Juan Guaidó as interim president of Venezuela and his ambassador – without an embassy – since the diplomatic headquarters remained open and threatened by intelligence agents and police under the command of the then Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, who now holds the same position.

The retired Comodoro Py courts bring together the majority of judges and prosecutors who make up the so-called Judicial Party, created by Macri at the request of the US embassy here and who dedicated themselves to persecuting former Peronist officials, and at this time they cover up all the cases where Macri is involved, as well as working in favor of the needs of the current president Javier Milei, including the Supreme Court, denounced daily for its connivance with the current government.

The Minister of Security during Macri’s time was present in the Chamber. Patricia Bullrich, who now holds the same position, an active militant against Venezuela, accompanied by Waldo Wolff, current Minister of Security of the Buenos Aires City Hall, headed by Jorge Macri, cousin of the former president and who make up the Argentine Forum for Democracy. Also the prosecutor, José Aguero Iturbe, insisted on asking for the international arrest of Maduro, Diosdado Cabello and other military personnel.

The case was promoted by the Argentine Forum for Democracy with the sponsorship of lawyer Tomás Farini Duggan, who asked the judges to summon Maduro to give a statement with an arrest warrant, based on the principle of “Universal Justice” while the judge of the case, Sebastián Ramos, rejected the request until the conclusion of the evidence measures, because a case cannot be left without sufficient evidence.

During the government of former President Macri, he was even part of the attempt to invade Venezuela in 2019, sending supposed white helmets or false doctors to Cúcuta, Colombia, from where an attempt was made to invade Venezuelan territory in 2019.

“Among the testimonies was a prosecutor whose name is being withheld. In the courtroom on the ground floor of Comodoro Py 2002, he was investigating murders during demonstrations in Venezuela and, according to what he said, he reached out to those who had given the orders, but was illegally kidnapped, tortured and went into exile in Argentina, as he recounted in the hearing, wrote Página 12 on Tuesday.
