Harming a minor, hurts and outrages all of us as a society, and I will not tolerate that, ”said Suro Esteves on his Twitter account.
For his part, Governor Alfaro assured that the former official “is still in jail for the crime of child sexual abuse“And said he would do” everything necessary so that this alleged pedophile does not get out of jail for a long time and receives the punishment he deserves. “
However, the president did not specify that the defendant is in preventive detention awaiting trial and that his defense seeks the conditional suspension of the process because the Prosecutor’s Office could not get the judge to accept the aggravations in the imputation of child sexual abuse.
That is why last Friday the Public Ministry tried to have the former official also linked to a process for corruption of minors in the same case, but the judge’s response was that the crime of corruption of minors was already included in that of child sexual abuse for which there was already a process link.
“The second accusation (for corruption of minors) required more detailed expert opinions, that was the reason why at the time of making it available (before the judge) it was decided to ensure a first connection (for child sexual abuse),” he said. the state attorney, Gerardo Octavio Solís Gómez, to explain the Public Ministry’s strategy in this case and said that they will oppose a possible conditional suspension of the process.
