The Attorney General’s Office obtained an arrest warrant in a prison against Sebastián Villegas Córdoba as the alleged perpetrator of the feminicide of his girlfriend.
The investigated events began on the night of this Sunday, January 28, in the Doce de Octubre neighborhood of Medellín (Antioquia), when uniformed members of the National Police found the victim’s body in a suitcase and with more than 20 wounds caused by a knife. .
According to the investigation carried out, the 19-year-old girl, who had lived in Mexico for some time, had arrived in the capital of Antioquia to spend time with her partner, whom she had met through social networks.
The evidentiary material shows that the defendant today was serving in the military and had been on leave since January 25. The mother of the alleged perpetrator alerted the uniformed members of the National Army about the possible responsibility of her son in the crime. Villegas Córdoba voluntarily presented himself to the authorities in Bello (Antioquia). The judicial police carried out the arrest warrant that had already been requested by the Prosecutor’s Office.
The defendant did not agree to the charges brought against him by a prosecutor from the Homicide Early Warning Group of the URI, for the crime of aggravated femicide.
