The Eighth Peace Court of San Salvador released four dancers from Plaza Libertad, who had been detained on February 22 after engaging in street disorder.
Eneyda Saraí Cañas Vásquez, known as “Eddy, La Cabalita”; Hugo Walter Iraheta Pineda, known for “El Magnate”; Marleny Beatriz Melara de Torres; and Julio German Torres Arias, were definitively dismissed by the judge.
Those identified were captured after being reported on social networks for being involved in a street fight between “La Cabalita” and another woman, to which the rest of the dancers involved were added.
When interviewed by the media, “La Cabalita” stated that she plans to retire from dancing in the square, since there she has encountered “many problems” among the competition. “I think I’m going to retire, I’m going to retire from that, because there are a lot of problems in those places,” she said.
