Responding to the accusations of Judge Dia, the first president of the Kaolack Court of Appeal admitted to having been the beneficiary of land offered by the mayor of the commune of Kahone.
Magistrate Kane said he had made a request for an award which was addressed to the mayor of this locality (not far from the town of Kaolack). The explanations he gave is that he is a son of the department, more particularly in the commune of Gandiaye, therefore, able to benefit from land offered by a mayor of the locality. According to him, this attribution never influenced any decision especially that related to the case of an accused named “Lamine Sene” which judge Dia would have mentioned in his accusations.
