The federal judge Maria Servini denounced the lawyer of Mauricio Macri, Pablo Lanusse, before the Public Bar Association for “offend the magistracy “and violate the Code of Ethics with the tone of the writing with which the lawyer opposed further investigation of the phone calls of the former president, between 2015 and 2019, in a case initiated by businessman Fabián De Sousa, partner of Cristóbal López.

He pointed out that Macri and a group of officials he trusted had formed an illicit association to pressure the owners of the Indalo Group to divest themselves of their companies. In that case, Judge Servini ordered Macri’s calls to be crossed with those of his collaborators José Torello, Nicolás Caputo, Fabián Rodríguez Simón, Mario Quintana, Javier Iguacel, Alberto Abad and Leandro Cuccioli, and the businessmen Martín Rappallini, Orlando Terranova and Ignacio Rosner.
Macri appealed and the Federal Chamber ordered to revoke the judge’s measure and limit the crossing of calls to the days investigated. De Sousa’s response, represented by the lawyer Carlos Beraldi, was to appeal to the Cassation and challenge the Federal Chamber judges Martín Irurzun, Leopoldo Bruglia and Pablo Bertuzzi. These three magistrates rejected the challenge yesterday.
Faced with Beraldi’s appeal, Judge Servini decided to resume the crossing of the calls that Macri made between 2016 and 2019. The measure outraged Lanusse, who He appealed in an angry writing in which he accused the judge of disobedience and to rise up against the decision of the Federal Chamber. In addition, he indicated that the judge’s ruling came after a tweet from Cristina Kirchner, also assisted in other cases by Beraldi, who had said that the Chamber, with its decision, had enshrined “once again impunity for Mauricio Macri.” . The vice president had also argued that, if the calls continued, the actions of the “judicial table” would be discovered to harm her.
Servini decided to reject Lanusse’s appeal to the decision to resume the call crossing, which was added, with their own writings, Torello and Simón. The judge argued that the defendants’ objections are directed against the performance of a test measure, which is unappealable, and maintained that the Chamber consented to it, but restricted its temporal scope and the disclosure of its content.
Regarding the tone of the letter from Macri’s lawyer, the judge wrote: “The expressions and disqualifications made by Dr. Pablo Jorge Lanusse cannot go unnoticed because they offend the Magistracy.” Servini affirmed that the lawyer’s words “exceed the treatment and decorum that every lawyer must keep during the exercise of their profession “, referring to Lanusse had pointed out that the judge’s decisions “caused him nausea” and they were “accommodating to interests unrelated to the record.”
For this reason, Servini sent a copy of this ruling and Lanusse’s letter to the Public Bar Association of the Federal Capital to analyze whether Lanusse committed a violation of the Code of Ethics.
