Neither the lawyers of the two actors nor the press attaché for Brad Pitt (57) responded to AFP’s requests.
The decision, rendered by retired judge John Ouderkirk, who officiates in a private setting and not in a court, validates the principle of equal custody, according to the celebrity news site TMZ.
It comes nearly five years after Angelina Jolie (46 years old today) filed for divorce in September 2016. The actress took legal action to obtain the dismissal of the judge in the case, a procedure still ongoing .
This decision concerns five of the six children of the former couple, Maddox Jolie-Pitt (19) being of legal age, and can be challenged in civil justice.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have not been officially married since April 2019, but have not yet resolved the issue of sharing their property.
In 2018, the two Hollywood stars had reached a temporary agreement for the joint custody of their children, on terms remained confidential, but had not managed to agree on a permanent formula.
An investigation was launched by the FBI after an incident reported by TMZ and which would have taken place in September 2016. During a plane trip, Brad Pitt allegedly attacked his children verbally and physically. At the end of its investigations, the American federal police had decided not to initiate any prosecution.
Regarded for a decade as the most glamorous couple in Hollywood, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were officially together from 2005 to 2016. They had three biological children together and Brad Pitt officially adopted Maddox, Pax and Zahara.
