Judge Fines President Trump $10,000 for Violating Gag Order in Fraud Trial

NEW YORK – The judge presiding over the $250 million fraud trial against Donald Trump and his company on Wednesday fined the president $10,000 for violating an order not to talk about his judicial staff.

Judge Arthur Engoron announced the fine after calling Trump to testify under oath who he was talking about when he told reporters earlier that day that the person sitting next to the judge was “very partisan.”

Trump said he was referring to the witness who testified before the New York attorney general’s office, namely Michael Cohen.

Engoron said he found Trump’s testimony “not credible” and fined Trump for violating the gag order he issued after the former president previously defamed his legal assistant on social media.

This is the second time that Engoron fines Trump for violating the gag order.
