Oscar: Jude Antony Joseph’s Malayalam film ‘2018’, India’s official entry from the final shortlist to compete for the Oscars, is out. A month before the announcement of the 96th Oscars, the organizers released the nominations in 10 categories yesterday. ‘2018’ was nominated for Best International Film category. However, the film was not selected for the second phase, which consisted of 15 films.
Films include Amerikatsi (Armenia), The Monk and the Gun (Bhutan), Fallen Leaves (Finland), The Teacher’s Lounge (Germany), The Taste of Things (France), Godland (Iceland), and The Mother of All Lies (Morocco). Placed in the last 15.
