JuanJo Cid Proposes Safer Public Spaces Free of Harassment and Discrimination

EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTO DOMINGO.- The candidate for councilor for Circumscription #1, in the National District, JuanJo Cid, proposed this Friday that public spaces be safer, free of harassment or any type of discrimination.

The leader of the Democratic Option Party (POD) said that it cannot occur to anyone that a person could be expelled from any park when they seek a way to recreate themselves.

Cid referred to the issue when being interviewed by communicators Jaime Rincón, Aneudy Ramírez, Edward Ramírez and Julio Samuel Sierra in the program “El Nuevo Diario de la Tarde”, broadcast by the digital platform El Nuevo Diario TV.

“We believe that from the city, plans can be created so that these public spaces are respected, used properly and are guaranteed by the Municipal Police,” he declared.

While after acknowledging that the mayoress Carolina Mejía has done a great job, she proposed to create the norms or legislation to control the funds of the Mayor’s Office of the National District.

“I think more can be done, especially with the mafias that exist with the permits granted by the council to engineers for the construction of works,” he argued.
