Juanes makes his acting debut in “Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina”, the new Prime Video film

Prime Video released the official trailer and poster for “Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina,” a Colombian production that will mark the acting debut of renowned singer Juanes.

The film, directed by Andrés Baiz, will premiere on the streaming platform before the end of the year.

The plot takes place on the Colombian-Venezuelan border, exploring the dangerous world of the “pimpineros”gasoline smugglers who risk their lives in this illicit business. The story follows Juan, played by Alejandro Speitzer, and his girlfriend Diana, played by Laura Osma, as they confront the dangers and secrets of this no man’s land.

Juanes, winner of multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy awards, is joined by an all-star cast that includes Alberto Guerra and promises to bring his musical talent to the big screen. His participation in this project marks a success in his career, diversifying his presence in the entertainment industry.

The film will have its world premiere on September 9 at the Toronto International Film Festival, as part of the “Centrepiece” programming. This launch reinforces Prime Video’s commitment to high-quality international productions, adding to a catalog that includes hits such as “Culpa Mía” and “Argentina 1985.”

“Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina” promises to be an explosive mix of action, drama and romance, addressing universal themes about geographical, ethical and family borders, with the added value of having one of the most recognized Latin artists in his film debut.
