COLOMBIA.- Colombian singer and composer Juanes He has achieved another achievement in his career by debuting as a professional actor in the Colombian film “Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina”.
“Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina” is a feature film directed by Andrés “Andy” Baiz and which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival.”
The film tells the story of a family of gasoline smugglers on the border between Venezuela and Colombia.
In the movie, Juanes He embodies the character of Moisés, who is the eldest of the Estrada Family brothers and there, a pimpineros plan will confront rival groups and the authorities.
Recently, Juanes He talked about what his experience was like debuting as an actor in this new production of Amazon Prime Video:
“I would definitely like to do it again. I really liked the experience (…) I feel that, after doing this, I think ‘ah ok’, I think I can do it, and I can do it better each time. It was a very intense,” declared the Colombian singer.
One of the aspects that Juanes What stood out about his character in the film is that he had to have a change in appearance, a situation that he liked when looking at himself in character:
“They dyed my hair gray, and the truth is that it was very strange to see myself in the mirror with that imposing appearance,” he mentioned with a laugh.
For his part, the director of “Pimpinero”, Andrés “Andy” Baiz highlighted that he appreciated the detail that Juanes I would like to do a casting to enter the production:
“Imagine, asking someone so well known and awarded to do a casting! Incredible! He is such a humble person, without ego, so authentic and generous, that he even sent me two auditions,” he commented.
After the film’s release, juanes He stated that he does not close the doors to acting, however, he will continue with his path in music:
“I would love to repeat the experience. Obviously, music is my path; I will never leave music, but this type of expression is incredibly enriching, and I would like, one day, to do more,” he expressed.
