The second concert of the STONE & MUSIC Festival, which the Colombian musician Juanes was going to offer tonight at the Teatro Romano in Mérida, has been canceled due to the rain.
After the great downpour of water that fell this afternoon in the capital of Extremadura, the organization of the festival has finally decided to suspend the concert scheduled for ten fifteen at night.
In the middle of the afternoon a storm began to unload on Mérida in which, according to Aemet records, some 50 liters per square meter have been collected, which has caused the flooding of the accesses to the theater and the orchestra, “making it impossible to development of the concert.
The organization of the STONE & MUSIC Festival, after meeting with the members of the security plan (national police, local police, firefighters, Consortium of the Monumental City and technical managers of occupational hazards, sound and lighting), has coincided with those responsible in the need to suspend the event to preserve the safety of attendees, teams and the monument itself.
Throughout the afternoon those responsible for the festival and its technical teams have been working so that the concert could develop normally, something that finally could not be.
Unfortunately, and despite the fact that the artist was already in the city and eager to share his show in such an important setting as the Roman Theater in Mérida, the aforementioned conditions make his celebration unfeasible, indicates the STONE & MUSIC Festival in a note from press.
Given the impossibility of fitting a new date into the Juanes tour, all people who have purchased tickets for the concert will be able to claim a refund of the amount from Monday through the sales channels where they were purchased, the festival website (www.stoneandmusicfestival.com) with the same credit card with which they were purchased or at the box office, presenting the original ticket.
