“Juanes and Trueno to Headline Latin Alternative Musical Conference in New York”

New York, April 25. The Colombian rocker Juanes and the Argentine rapper Trueno will headline two free concerts that will take place at the Latin Alternative Musical Conference (LAMC) in New York, considered the most important independent festival of Latin music and that will be held between the 11th and the 15th of July, as reported by the organization on Tuesday.

Juanes will share the bill on July 12 with the young regional Mexican girl group Conexión Divina at Central Park’s SummerStage, while Trueno will also perform there on July 15 with Puerto Rican rapper Villano Antillano and Colombian Afrofuturist duo Dawer x Damper to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip hop, LAMC said in a note.

These are the first confirmations of this forum that for more than two decades has brought together hundreds of artists, executives, journalists and other participants in the Spanish-speaking music industry in the Big Apple around a series of conferences and shows.

The LAMC is also holding between April 25 and 28 a virtual forum with the theme “Wonder women of Latin music” (the super women of Latin music), which includes two popular musical samples, this time in “streaming”: ” Sounds of Spain”, focused on Spain, and “Indie Showcase”, by independent artists

Among the artists participating in these sessions are Israel Fernández, La Santa Cecilia, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Caramelo Haze, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Valeria Canavati and Mando.

There are also several virtual conversations scheduled at this event, including Latin GRAMMYs CEO Manuel Abud; Spanish rocker Enrique Bunbury; the Cypress Hill group and Toy Selectah, a founding member of Control Machete. EFE
