Juan Soto remains committed to seeking his first championship ring with the New York Yankees and proof of this was this Saturday’s 6-5 victory against the Kansas City Royals in the first game of the American League Division Series, where he went 5-5. 3 and was the victim of an out at home that could have increased his team’s lead.
The emotion of having played his first postseason duel with the Yankees left Soto with an “electric” feeling, as he described after the duel in which the Yankees even had to come from behind on the board on a couple of occasions.
“It was a lot of fun and it was electric. It’s been amazing” the powerful Dominican left-hander described his experience.
Regarding Soto’s work on the field, another who had words of affection and recognition was the general manager of the Mules, Brian Cashman, who sees the Quisqueyan as a key piece since he arrived from the San Diego Padres in the December 2023 trade.
“Everyone in the playoffs has a legitimate chance to lift the trophy, it’s a lot more complicated than just one move. He (Soto) came to improve our possibilities, and he has improved our possibilities without a doubt“Cashman added.
The relationship between Cashman and Soto is at a good point, which gives hope to Yankees fans of being able to protect Soto with a multi-year contract despite his entry into Free Agency in 2025.
There Soto and his agent Scott Boras will seek a contract that, according to various reports, ranges between 14 years and $500 million dollars.. However, others claim that the amount could reach up to $560 million because it would equal the salary of the Yankees’ other star, captain and home run hitter Aaron Judge.
