In an exciting game played at Yankee Stadium, Soto ended the game with a walk-off hit, allowing Jon Berti, who entered as an automatic runner at second base, to score the winning run.
Soto’s blast was a grounder that barely made it past shortstop Trevor Story, who lunged in a desperate attempt to stop the ball. Berti slid headfirst into the plate just before center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela’s throw came in, securing another win for the Yankees, who left Boston on the field for the second straight time.
