Juan Peguero, a 23-year-old young man, was captured in the Dominican Republic as a suspect in a homicide committed outside a warehouse in Upper Manhattan (NYC) in 2022.
At the time of the crime, Peguero resided in Yonkers. He was caught this week by US Marshals and brought back to New York on Thursday, NYPD said. He was accused of murder and weapons possession in the death of Erni Garcia, 24 years old, shot on the night of July 11, 2022, he recalled Daily News.

The police said that García was standing in front of a warehouse at Sherman Ave. and W. 204th St. in Inwood when A white BMW stopped. A gunman came out and fired several shots.
“The gunman was wearing a mask [quirúrgica] and a sturdy winter coat,” even though it was summer, said a witness who did not want to be identified. “I saw him reach inside him and pull out his firearm.”
Police officers were pumping the victim’s chest before paramedics rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died.
The BMW fled after the shooting, but police said video and witness accounts helped identify the gunman. It is still unclear why Garcia, who lived about a half-mile from the crime scene, was shot.
All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

This week Johnathan Méndez, a 19-year-old teenager, died in the hospital after spending several days in critical condition after being shot in the head outside a public housing complex (NYCHA) in Queens.
