CIUDAD REAL, 24 (EUROPA PRESS)
The wine sector spokesman for Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias Castilla-La Mancha and manager of the Cooperativa Nuesta Señora de Manjavacas-Bodegas Zagarrón, Juan Fuente, will occupy the Secretariat of the Interprofessional Wine Organization of Spain (OIVE) after the renewal of all positions of the organization, whose presidency will be held by Fernando Ezquerro from La Rioja.
Fuente succeeds the current president of Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España y de Castilla-La Mancha, Ángel Villafranca, who since 2014 has held the presidency of the wine organization, “dedicating a great effort to promoting Spanish wine both in the national and international markets, as well as to modernize the sector”, they have highlighted in a press release from this organization.
Among Villafranca’s main achievements is the approval of the 2022-2027 Wine Sector Strategy, a document that sets out the lines of action for the coming years.
From Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias Castilla-La Mancha, its general director, Juan Miguel del Real, has congratulated Fuente on his new position, which, without a doubt, “will contribute to continue defending the interests of the wine cooperatives in the region”.
Similarly, he thanked the work carried out by Ángel Villafranca during his almost ten years at the head of the OIVE, in which “consensus and appreciation” of the Spanish wine sector have been sought.
The Interprofessional del Vino de España (OIVE) is a non-profit organization that brings together representative entities of the value chain of the Spanish wine sector. It is constituted as an instrument at the service of the sector to tackle its weaknesses through the union and joint work of the different agents that form it.
