Juan Daniel Oviedo admitted that he is preparing to be a presidential candidate in 2026: until when he will be in the Council of Bogotá

Juan Daniel Oviedo, the current councilor of Bogotá, has gained a lot of fame after his time at Dane. In a recent interview for the Semana magazine He warned that he would finally resign from the Council of Bogotá next May 2025. He would do so in order to collect enough signatures to launch himself as an independent candidate.

When the mentioned media asked him about this fact, he assured that he was very interested in becoming the president, but “obviously wishes don’t mean being in a campaign from now on, what we are doing is preparing and planning what the situation could be, a bit like we suggested first, which allows to build a political platform that will be possible. ” He also assured that he would like to be far from the margins to look for what Colombia really needs.

Regarding the management of his rival in the mayoral elections, he said that Galán currently has a rating of 3 out of 5 in his government.
