How was the case of Juan Collado?
On July 9, 2019, agents of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) captured Juan Collado, on charges of operations with resources of illicit origin and organized crime. By August 2020, the FGR accused the crime of tax fraud for a value of 36 million pesos and embezzlement for 13.7 million pesos, both illegal to the detriment of the Government of Chihuahua. During the year 2021, Collado related to Julio Scherer Ibarra, former legal adviser to the federal government, for an extortion attempt, as he stated that people close to the latter asked him to hand over the shares of his company (Caja Libertad) in exchange for regaining his freedom. Despite the complaint made by Juan Collado, Julio Scherer’s staff was exonerated by the judge Padierna in 2022; In response, the defense of Yadhira Carrillo’s husband filed a complaint against said judge, this under the charge of influence peddling.
