Born into a family of poets, philanthropists, doctors and musicians, Juan Camilo Calvo, only 24 years old, is an intern, musician and composer, who from childhood began to be interested in medicine and music thanks to his mother and grandparents. who with their examples instilled a desire to help people and a love for the arts.

Since he was a child he has been inclined to help others and for people to have a better quality of life, that is why today he works in the best way, and is part of Meta Visible, a non-governmental organization that helps communities most needy in the country.
«I like that patients have a better quality of life, apart from the bond that is created, knowing that that person fully trusts me, that is what motivates me to get up and say I am going to do my best, that they feel good, it makes me feel good too, “said the doctor and composer who also works at the Primavera Clinic.
Likewise, his taste for music comes from the fact that his maternal grandparents and his parents were always in a poetic environment, given that his grandfather was a teacher and was very fond of theater, poetry and music.

At the age of 12, when Juan Camilo was in seventh grade in Tunja (Boyacá), with the help of a classmate who carried a guitar and lent it to him, he became interested.
«My parents had no money and I liked music so much that I told my friend that he would lend it to me and we would start playing, and what I know, I learned it alone, through YouTube, through books; I preferred to play and sing than to go play with my classmates, “he recalls.
One of the things he remembers most from his childhood is the way his parents “punished” him: the corrective was to read a book and tell them the complete summary. That gave him a critical and memory sense to his training that he later learned to take advantage of in his two professions.
He relates music to medicine, because it was thanks to her that in the most difficult moments of study, he learned the most complex processes of medicine through songs like rap and ballads.
«One of my objectives is to break with the scheme that the individual was only born to belong to a single discipline; I wanted to learn the more complex processes of medicine and medical names, and it was through music that I achieved that, ”explained the singing doctor.

When he studied and felt saturated, he played his guitar and took him to another world. That is why Juan feels proud of what he has created, because what he is up to now has been through effort and dedication of himself and persevering.
He is currently writing a poetry book with which he aspires to reach about 100 poems. Likewise, he has been able to record four songs of which two already have a video clip, one of them called Bestia Animal, with a rock rhythm in Spanish, a song that encouraged him to continue producing music.
Juan C. Calvo continues to work as an intern, without neglecting his projects as a composer musician. He will soon be launching his new album ‘Fragmento’, to continue showing his love not only for people but for music that he is so passionate about.
