“JSC Rīgas Siltums Reduces Contractual Penalty and Offers More Favorable Terms”

JSC “Rīgas siltums” has decided to renew the application of the contractual penalty, taking into account the stabilization of the situation in energy, the company informs.

At the same time, the company planned to provide more favorable terms of the contract, providing the possibility to pay until the last date of the month and reducing the penalty interest for delayed payments.

From June 1, JSC “Rīgas siltums” will provide an opportunity to pay for the supplied thermal energy until the last date of the month. Until now, settlements had to be made by the 20th of the month.

Also, the amount of the applicable contractual penalty has been reduced to 0.1% instead of the previous 0.2%, limiting the total amount of the contractual penalty to no more than 10% of the unpaid invoice amount.

“During Covid-19 and this difficult winter, when payments increased in almost all areas, the heat supply company acted in a socially responsible manner and completely canceled late payment fees. During this period, we developed new contract terms that will contribute to the improvement of the payment system and reduce other bureaucratic obstacles,” says AS “Rīgas siltums” board member Mārcis Kauliņš.

Customers are invited to timely change the contracts in the new version on the supply and use of thermal energy.
