Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (AUTO) has stated its readiness to produce electric vehicle spare parts starting next year.
President Director of AUTO, Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen, revealed that later the company will prepare a number of components for electric vehicle parts, including lithium batteries, inverters and electro motors.
However, Hamdani has not been able to provide further details with the potential partners appointed to cooperate with AUTO.
“We are bound by a non-disclosure agreement with partners and potential partners, we cannot expose the details. However, we are in a condition to prepare for the diversification and innovation process related to electrification vehicles,” said Hamdani, in the company’s public expose, Monday (11/8/2021).
For information only, as of September 30, 2021, the company recorded a net profit attributable to owners of the parent entity of Rp 446.44 billion, the opposite of the same period in the previous year a loss of Rp 242.92 billion.
This spare parts issuer’s revenue is still dominated by sales to third parties in the domestic market worth Rp 6.63 trillion, up from the same period in the previous year of Rp 5.43 trillion. Meanwhile, sales in the export market increased from the previous Rp 858.04 billion to Rp 957.14 billion.
Hamdani added, the improvement in the company’s performance was in line with the national economic recovery in line with the better handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. He believes this situation will continue next year.
“We are still confident, the trend will be positive, growth next year compared to this year,” he concluded.
