GREENSBORO, NC – Former NBA guard JR Smith will debut next week as a golfer for North Carolina A&T.
The school announced that Smith will play his first college tournament on Monday and Tuesday at the Phoenix Invitational hosted by Elon. The tournament will take place at the Alamance Country Club golf course with a par 71 of 6,867 yards.
Smith joined NC A&T over the summer after 16 NBA seasons and joined the golf team as a freshman. All golfers on the team must qualify for each tournament in practice unless they finished first or second in the previous tournament. Smith qualified for next week’s tournament by one hit.
