Jozef Van den Berg started out as an itinerant puppeteer for children. Later he made his own performances in the theater, for children and adults. “Mother and the Fool” was his most famous piece, with homemade character dolls that lived in a coffin: Purse, Mrs. the Witch, Mr. King, Big Eye, Pietje the Caterpillar or Frederik the Bird. A number of performances were broadcast on television. Some other titles: “Apple Eye”, “The Lovers” or “The Dance of the Hunchback”. Van den Berg traveled around the world with it, from Australia to Canada.
